HOW IT ALL STARTED

Once upon a time in the middle of Jutland, Denmark, a family had a revolutionary vision. In 1971, the Thygesen family founded Tytex, a company that would forever change the landscape of medical textile products. From the very beginning, the keyword that guided Tytex's journey was evolution—an unwavering commitment to constant progress and staying at the forefront of development.

A GROUNDBREAKING PRODUCTION METHOD

The Thygesen family pioneered a groundbreaking production method that allowed products to be knitted in a single manufacturing process, setting Tytex apart right from the start. But they didn't stop there. In 1973, Tytex embarked on a successful collaboration with a leading pad manufacturer, jointly developing and producing fixation pants for babies and incontinent adults. This marked the beginning of a remarkable journey in the field of incontinence care.

EXPANDING TO OTHER MARKETS

A major milestone came in 1979 when Tytex acquired the patent rights from an American company, propelling their development of innovative incontinence briefs even further. It was clear that Tytex's commitment to pushing boundaries and embracing change was propelling them to new heights.

As the years went by, Tytex continued to expand and evolve. In 1984, they established their first overseas production plant in Ireland, followed by Tytex Inc. in the USA in 1989. The company's global footprint grew even larger with the addition of Tytex Slovakia in 2001 and Tytex Thailand in 2008. Tytex's ability to keep production costs low played a crucial role in their success, and today their manufacturing operations are consolidated in highly efficient facilities in Slovakia.

To support their expanding operations, Tytex opened sales offices in Germany in 1993 and Thailand in 2008, in addition to their sales headquarters in Denmark. This global presence allowed Tytex to serve customers worldwide, establishing themselves as a reliable partner to some of the largest companies in the industry.
